Seven Is A Lucky Number

The universe got the message encrypted in my love letter to heavy lifting yesterday. Our workout this morning was barbell-tastic.

Make no mistake: it was really, REALLY challenging.

Seven rounds was pretty intimidating, and on every one of them, I wasn't sure I could actually do the hip cleans to overhead. The bar felt so heavy!

But I did it! And the weight was only 10 lbs. under my 1-rep max, so I might have strutted a little.

I also did a full re-enactment for Dave when I got home, complete with loud grunts and 'it hurts' faces. Too bad y'all missed it!

I like to pretend my bar looks like this when I have my small stack of plates on the ends.

  1. I also like to do re-enactments for my husband when I get home - except when I'm pretty sure if I go into a squat I'm not coming back up. The grunts and pain faces are not simulated in my case!
