Whole30: Day 2

From June 1 through June 30, I'm participating in the Whole30 clean-up/change your life/heal thyself plan. (Here's why.)

Training - 7:00 a.m.
For Time:
50 sit ups
50 double-unders (attempts)
50 sit ups
50 walking lunges
50 sit ups
50 box jumps
50 sit ups
My time: 17:50

VERY sweaty. Did the situps with a 4-lb. medicine ball, soles of my feet together, arms overhead all the up and down. This workout is tricky because it looks like the DUs and box jumps will be hard, but really, those other things are just a distraction to take one's mind off all of the f*cking situps!

Food
Dinner last night was sublime: tuna with homemade mayo, black olives, garlic chives, parsley, and a touch of mustard... with green pepper strips and jicama on the side... blackberries for dessert. And a before-bed spoonful of Sunbutter for sweet dreams. Today is "fish day"!

Sleep
8 restful hours

Need to take better care of yourself? Here are some guidelines you might find helpful.

  1. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who is starting over! Taking on the Whole30 is tougher for me since I waitress at a restaurant and literally will go from four in the afternoon until eleven at night without eating. I was so starved yesterday I ate the only thing I could, a croissant.

  2. Good luck, Lauren! Can you take snacks with you?

  3. Thanks! Unfortunately my managers will not allow me to bring outside food in so I'm stuck. I do my best to each paleo meals before I go into work, but working through the dinner hour makes it tough.

  5. Hey! I just started following your blog and me loves it! Thanks especially for posting your workouts- I live in an area where there are a couple Crossfit affiliates, but they are pretty pricey...it's nice to see some examples of challenging things I can do in my own backyard...

  6. AllieNic... welcome! Glad you like the blog. If you scroll down the list of tags on the left and click "backyard workouts" you'll get a whole bunch of workouts that need minimal equipment. Shoot me questions if you have 'em!
