A New Year's Toast To You

Dear friends, 2010 was not a very good year. Yes, there were some triumphs both small and large – but there was also a great deal of sorrow and (ahem) growth opportunities. My favorite quote of the year? "Learning is fun," said with both tears and laughter.

I'm going to remember the lessons, rather than the rocky road, of 2010... and I'm ready to break out the 2011 calendar and enjoy a fresh start.

From my heart to yours, thank you so much for keeping me company here – and best wishes for a very happy, healthy new year filled with love and celebrations of you and your very special you-ness.

Wherever you find yourself and whatever you're doing on December 31, I hope you'll take the following words with you. Dave made this toast to our houseful on Christmas Eve, and it moved us all to (good) tears:
Here's to the road behind; may we only have to learn those hard lessons one time.
Here's to the road ahead; may we find better versions of ourselves.
And here's to this moment, right now, which is perfect in every way...
To life!

  2. Thanks for providing such inspiration this year. I really enjoyed your "On not Underestimating Oneself" post the other day... and today I trusted myself and ran a 7:05 mile after Tabata bottom-to-bottom squats. I feel as high as a kite!

LAUREN! That is so amazingly awesome! I've yet to try bottom-to-bottom tabata squats and a 7:05 mile is the stuff of dreams! Congratulations!
