Happily, I can report that Dave and I did our AMRAP workout on Saturday morning to make up for Friday's workout FAIL, and our backyard CrossFit lived up to expectations. It was HARD!
Backyard CrossFit (performed in Eilers Park)I finished 6+ rounds in 20:00 and kept going to complete a 7th round in 20:54. It was blazing hot and sunny, so we huddled in little patches of shade as much as possible. It was like an extra challenge: "Sprint through the sunny patch to the shade for pushups...."
AMRAP 20 minutes:
- Sprint the stone stairs
- 10 box jumps, 18-inch wall
- 10 pushups
- 10 squats
- 10 dips
Sunday was a rest day, if you count a few hours of food prep and cooking as rest. And then this morning was a tough-as-biker-leather CrossFit Women met-con. I'm pleased to report that the three rounds of 10 pushups in our warmup seem finally, FINALLY be more manageable. I got my chest to the ground every time, and I can do them faster than before. I even got through the 3rd round without resting after #5 like I usually do. It's a tiny improvement, but I'll take it!
CrossFit WomenMy time: 16:51. That seems pokey to me, but I went as fast as I could. Whatever.
For time:
- 400m run
- 50 box jumps, 20"
- 50 swings, 16kg kettlebell
- 50 deadlift, 2X40-lb. dumbbells
- 500m row
We finished with 8 rounds of Tabata squats. My numbers:
14 - 13 - 12 - 12 - 12 - 12 - 11 - 11
In the car on the way to work, I was describing our workout to Dave: "... then 50 swings and 50 deadlifts and 500 meters of rowing!"
When I stopped talking, he waited a beat and said, "Just once?"
Spoken like a true CrossFit convert.
Death to corporate jail! Hope your week perks up!
