Veggies and Sleep and Training, Oh My: 9/2/09 Report

My report from September 2, 2009, faithfully submitted for your review...

Hrs of sleep:
8

Veggies:
1 c broccoli
1.5 cups tomatoes
1 cup eggplant
1.5 cups cabbage
1/2 cucumber
1/2 cup snap peas
1/2 large carrot
1/2 large red pepper
1.5 cups green beans

Fruit:
3/4 cup strawberries
1/2 cup blueberries
1 cup strawberries

Training:
REST DAY!
The skinny
Wednesday is my rest day, so most of the time, I don't stuff in as much fuel as on workout days. I did a pretty good job of getting a variety of veggies yesterday, even with the reduced calorie intake. I'm madly in love with baba ghanoush right now. I've perfected my 'make it fast and easy' recipe, and it's fun to see how the flavor varies depending on the kind of eggplant I use and the strength of the individual cloves of the garlic.

Get your baba on!

Dang, I really need to up the veggies and variety. I always have good intentions but eating the same old thing is so much easier. Mel, you and Moxy must be on the same wave, her post yesterday was all about the veggies too.

  2. Um. She ordered me to eat more vegetables, and thus my need to report back to y'all was born.

She lays down the science, I bring the lists ;-)

  3. Wait, you get ordered to eat veggies and I get ordered to CrossFit? Why can't I get ordered to eat?

  6. Erika! 9 hours of sleep. Awesome. I'm hoping to do that tonight and tomorrow night and Saturday night and Sunday night. We have a 4-day weekend from work and I'm celebrating by... sleeping!

And yeah, homemade salsa totally counts.

Training: Wednesday is my non-CF day. Taught 2 back-to-back X-Biking classes and then took yoga.

  9. Mel - what have you been drinking this afternoon? Wrong no, but not so sure I like it either.

  10. The sleep thing is hardest for me, too... but look at your veggie list. AWESOME!

  11. thanks! I need to amend my goals for this Melicious challenge. I need to remember to ice my shoulder at least 4-5 times a day and I'm not. So I'm gonna add that to my little reporting tally also. I'm very, very bad at it!
