My report from Tuesday, September 22, 2009, faithfully submitted for your review... (Read this if you're wondering why I'm posting my veggie list.)
The skinnyHrs of sleep:
8.5 (Sweet! 8:30 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.)
Veggies:
1 c sweet potato
2 carrots
2 cucumbers
4 c cabbage
1.5 c snow peas
Fruit:
1 c strawberries
Training:
CrossFit Women
- 25 burpees
4 rounds:
- 21 situps, arms straight overhead
- 21 kb swings, 16kg
- 21 ring dips, blue band
With a partner (thanks, Stacey!):
- Leg drops, max reps or 40, whichever comes first... I did 51!
- :30 wheelbarrow hold
- Max leg drops... I did 40
Sssshhhh.... I'm starting to like ring dips. I look forward to the day I can do them without the band, but I love that triceps-on-fire feeling, and with every tingle of agony, I imagine the smooth, lean arms I'll have one day.
It was raining HARD so the 25 burpees took the place of our usual 400m run. That seems unduly harsh, and man! I love burpees, but they were challenging.
Kettlebell swings and I have found a detente, but meh. I don't love 'em. However, the 16kg kb is feeling "normal" now, so I guess it's time to bump up the weight on those. Um... yay?
Here's something to think about: On Monday and Tuesday, I made an effort to eat even more vegetables and to keep my fruit servings to a maximum of two. You can see that on Tuesday, I only ate 1 cup of strawberries. I had them twice, just in 1/2-cup servings, instead of my usual 1-cup... that way I still got to have a sweet treat twice. Anyhoochie, my energy was off the charts at band practice last night, and I'm going to keep my eye on this new development to see if I can attribute the increased energy to more veg/less fruit.
Anyone with some science on this wanna chime in?
Burpees VS wind driven rain running...hmmmm. I choose rain:)
ReplyDeleteSaw your Chili recipe and now that is ALL I'm craving. Nums...
you're a bad ass. certifiable.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to come to Austin, and I'm not gonna leave until you absolutely LOVE the kettlebell swing. Bet you a Grey Goose dirty martini with three blue cheese stuffed olives (up) that I can do it.
