Part of my Be the Best Me™ plan is to make sure I go running on Saturdays. There's something about being outside and running that clears the snakes out of my brain like nothing else. The hard work and the freedom of putting one foot in front of the other – of powering up a little hill or picking a landmark (or person) and sprinting to it – works some kind of magic that helps keep me on an even keel.
But I forget that sometimes, and I lie in bed instead of running.
But that was 2010.
This is 2011, and my Saturday mornings are going to start with a run.
Which brings me to this: RunKeeper Pro.
It's an iPhone/iPad/iPod app that tracks how far you went, how long it took, what your pace/speed was, and the path you traveled on a map. – then it syncs with the RunKeeper web site so you have a history of all that exertion. And if care about such things, you can easily share your adventures on Facebook and Twitter. You can also listen to music while running RunKeeper and get audio cues about your time and distance.
The best part? From now until the end of the month, it's FREE. Why not give it a shot?
Just downloaded this! Thanks for sharing, it will keep me motivated :) Cheers to a great 2011!
ReplyDeletePlus starting your day with a run is frexciting!!
ReplyDeleteThe Android version is also free until the end of the year, and it ROCKS! I'd been using Endomondo (free version), and RunKeeper (Free Version) off and on (On my HTC Evo_- but the Pro looks like it will blow them both out of the water! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDelete**And seriously, I feel like a kid at Christmas right now . . .will Saturday GET HERE already?!?!** :)
