Holiday me: Awesome! I have the day off from work tomorrow. Yay! I could [insert naughty behavior here... "stay up late"... "eat some low-fat ice cream"... "sleep in"...].I didn't mind getting up and going to the gym at all. I was just all discombobulated by my wonky schedule -- and kept forgetting and remembering about the workout.
Spartan me: You have CrossFit Women at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow. Eat your vegetables. Drink some water. Think about getting some sleep.
Now my muscles are just tender enough to ensure that I'm not going to forget yesterday's (or today's) workout anytime soon.
Memorial Day CrossFit WomenTo describe my 400m noodle-legged motion as a "run" is to apply a very generous definition of the word, but I was pleased overall: I added 5 lbs. in weight since the last time we did Bear complex (April 15), and my workout time was 15:57.
4 rounds for time:
- Bear complex X 7, 55-lb. bar
- 400m run
I spent most of yesterday lolling around with The Thirteenth Tale and despite dropping into unconsciousness right on schedule at 9:30 p.m. last night, I really, really wanted to stay in bed this morning. My warmup was creaky, and my attitude was... meh.
But I rallied! Spartan Spirit... rah!
Backyard Spartan WorkoutThen Dave and I hit the hike & bike trail for a 3-mile run. Right around the 2.5-mile mark, I started to feel kind of out of it... that floaty-yet-leaden-legged feeling of blood sugar crashing. I walked the last 1/4 mile and ate like an ANIMAL when I got home:
5 rounds for time:My time: 15:12
- 60 jump ropes (including quasi-successful attempts at double-unders)
- 10 thrusters, 20-lb. dumbbells
- 10 pullups
- 2 cups of cabbage sauteed w/ 2 oz. of grilled chicken and 1 teaspoon canola oil
- 1/2 cup blueberries w/ 1 cup 1% milk
- 15 almonds
Way to go with the Memorial Day workout. I gave in to my laziness and didn't go and felt like I needed to go to confession at St.Carey's all day!
ReplyDeleteWay to go today Mel. CrossFit followed by a 3 mile run? That's Spartan!
